Luz Vidas dreams black and white visions of past, present, and future. A natural adventurer with astounding curiosity, Luz travels through time with her best friend Violet, a fluffy creature; part dragon, part dog. Luz learns the power of her name when she receives a storybook with instructions to turn on the light at the Edge of the Earth. To fulfill her mission, she must reunite and make peace with all versions of herself to turn on the light within.
Nathaly Charria Jiménez is an artist, writer, and director of surrealist coming-of-age stories. She earned her MFA in Screenwriting from the David Lynch Graduate School of Cinematic Arts, following a decade of collaboration with David Lynch.
Nathaly curated her mentor’s last solo museum exhibition during his lifetime, LIGHT: Essence of Photography by David Lynch at Salvador Dalí House Museum in Spain. Presented by the Gala Salvador Dalí Foundation and the David Lynch Foundation, this marked Nathaly’s transcendence as an artist. To close the exhibition, Lynch instructed Charria to destroy the artwork, and from here, LIGHT short film was born.
